Grieger visits F/STOP Festival
It was suggested to us by the Leipzig Centre of Contemporary Photography that we should take part in the F/STOP Festival. Grieger has had good contacts with the Leipzig photographic art scene for quite a long time now. After many years we therefore decided to present ourselves outside our own business premises.
The organisers succeeded in booking a spacious floor for the event at Handelshof in the centre of Leipzig. This floor is currently being refurbished, but the premises were ideally suited for the festival.
Our stand was situated in the entrance area, where we showed a number of large-format digital and analogue photographs, all of them permanently sealed with a Diasec® method.
Diasec® involves the creation of a permanent bond between a print or slide and acrylic glass. The technique has been used by us for over 35 years and is undergoing continuous development. Last year, in Leipzig, we showed Diasec® Face SR, a bond between scratch-proof acrylic glass and Diasec® Face FineArt, which is a combination of inkjet and fine art papers. And as Grieger is “great in big images”, we will soon be in a position to produce Diasec® Face FineArt – without visible edges and up to a size of
235 x 500 cm.
Students and young artists were particularly interested in our Diasec® 2 + 2, an inexpensive Diasec® bond with either analogue or digital photographic enlargements, set between 2-mm acrylic glass and a 2-mm composite aluminium plate plus Grieger T-8 supporting rail system.
We recorded over 1,200 visitors at our stand and had numerous in-depth chats with professionals.
We would like to express our grateful thanks to the Leipzig Centre of Contemporary Photography for their help, their kindness and their hospitality. We are particularly indebted to Mr. and Mrs. Dittrich and to Frank-Heinrich Müller from Photographiedepot in Leipzig.
